Paramount+ in Canada, BIPOC TV & Film, and the National Screen Institute Partner for new ELEVATE program
The new business development initiative will support the growth and stability of BIPOC-owned production companies in Canada. Additional partners include the Canada Media Fund, Telefilm Canada, the Government of Manitoba, the Manitoba Arts Council, and academic partner, The Creative School at Toronto Metropolitan University.

TIFF 2023 Gathering

WGC, IATSE strike deal to represent script coordinators
Three years after BIPOC TV & Film circled a petition for the inclusion of script coordinators in the Writers’ Guild of Canada, an agreement was reached between the Guild and IATSE to extend union representation to script coordinators working in Canada.
Indeed Joins Forces with BIPOC TV & Film, Hillman Grad and TIFF to Launch Rising Voices Career Accelerator in Canada
“Talent is universal; opportunity is not.” Presented by Indeed in partnership with BIPOC TV & Film, Hillman Grad, and TIFF, the Rising Voices Canada Mentorship Program is a career accelerator that will provide mentorship, networking and industry access to emerging BIPOC Canadian filmmakers.
Meet the second cohort of the Canadian Academy Executive Residency Program
Meet the 2023 cohort of the Canadian Academy’s Executive Residency Program. This year, the program is matching seven participants with program Advocates for shadowing and observational placements focusing on project development, organizational governance and peer-to-peer mentorship. BIPOC TV & Film is proud to be Community Partner with the Executive Residency Program.

To mark Asian Heritage Month, BIPOC TV & Film, in collaboration with House of Arts, hosted a panel of writers, directors and producers from the Asian diaspora to share their journeys with short-form content.

To celebrate diverse filmmakers at Hot Docs 2023, BIPOC TV & Film teams up with Reel Asian Film Festival to co-host a mixer for BIPOC creatives and allies.
Repost: How a new workforce development program is propelling real-time 3D careers in Ontario
In early 2022, Unity partnered with Stratagem, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and Magnet to train and certify a diverse population of students, educators, displaced workers, and employees with a Skills Development Grant from Ontario’s Ministry of Labour. Over 60 program participants have been engaged via local nonprofits, including Toronto Community Housing, BIPOC TV & Film, and the Remix Project.
