Meet the second cohort of the Canadian Academy Executive Residency Program
The 2023 Cohort of the Academy’s Executive Residency Program is here!
Now in its second year, the residency provides industry access to mid-career individuals, pairing seven participants with advocates from the industry to help advance their careers with shadowing and observational placements focusing on project development, organizational governance, and peer-to-peer mentorship.
The Executive Residency Program is paving the way for the next generation of visionary and creative leaders, and we are thrilled to see the success of the program as it heads into its second year. We feel strongly that these mentorship opportunities will empower our cohort to help us redefine what it means to be a creative executive, and we look forward to witnessing the achievements that these professionals will undoubtedly accomplish as a result.

Meet the participants:
(Can you spot the BIPOC TV & Film alumni?)
Congratulations to all participants of the 2023 Executive Residency.
BIPOC TV & Film is proud to be Community Partner with the Executive Residency Program.
The Executive Residency Program is a Canadian Academy initiative dedicated to providing industry access for mid-career professionals who identify as Black, Indigenous, or persons of colour, in order to influence a change in the next generation of executives and decision makers. The eight-month national program matches high-level Advocates (such as VPs, Executive Producers, Development/Production Executives) with emerging leaders, providing insight into how creative and business decisions are made on an executive level. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their creative, business, and leadership skills, and make meaningful connections in the industry.
The Executive Residency Program is presented by our Supporting Partner Telefilm Canada; Collaborative Partners Bell Media, Pinewood Toronto Studios, Blue Ant Media, and Boat Rocker; and Community Partner BIPOC TV & Film.
This program is designed to support members of the following underrepresented communities: Black, Indigenous, or persons of colour. The program welcomes applicants from Québec and Francophones from other regions; however, all program sessions will be conducted in English. Applications and materials can be submitted in French or English. Upon request, the program will offer translation to French whenever possible. Placements will be made in English-dominant environments.
