BIPOC TV & Film at Prime Time 2024

  • The Westin Hotel Ottawa (map)

The CMPA's Prime Time conference is Canada's pre-eminent meeting place for leaders and trendsetters in media production, broadcasting, TV, feature film and media policy.

BIPOC TV & Film is proud to be sending filmmakers Mona Hersi, Ryan Moccasin, Thea Loo, Jason Ip, Laura Friedmann and Maisaa Houri to the Westin Hotel in Ottawa from January 31st to February 2nd. The six will be joined by BIPOC TV & Film Executive Director Kadon Douglas.

Meet them here.

Each filmmaker will receive a delegate pass to attend the CMPA Prime Time 2024 conference taking place in Ottawa from January 31 to February 2, market acess to 1:1 and group sessions with industry execs, access to thought leadership and workshops, networking acces to connect with key industry and government leaders, invitation to two virtual pre-event training sessions and more! This opportunity is made possible through our Festival and Market Access Initiative and the generous support of the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA).

Along with the delegates, we will be represented by two of our board members, Jenn Paul and Margaret Lewis, who will be featured on panels and will facilitate workshops.

Jenn is facilitating the workshop: How producers can achieve hair and makeup equity for BIPOC performers on set with Lisa Michelle Cornelius. She’s also a panellist on Data matters: How to use demographic reporting to increase diversity and inclusion on screen.

Margaret is co-facilitating the workshop: How to navigate the financial impact of changes in media buying and selling.
