BIPOC TV & FILM Launches New Film Completion Fund In Partnership With NBCUniversal

The initiative provides financial support to BIPOC filmmakers from across Canada who are seeking assistance with the post-production, marketing and promotion of short and feature-length films.

TORONTO, ON | September 20, 2022—We’re ecstatic to announce the creation of our inaugural fund, a new initiative to support the post-production, marketing and distribution of short and feature-length projects directed or produced by Black, Indigenous, and racialized filmmakers. Now in our 10th year, we’re proud to be able to deepen our community impact with the development of this fund.

“Our inaugural fund was created through consultation with BIPOC producers and industry leaders across Canada. We’re ecstatic to be once again building a new opportunity for and by our community. With a generous contribution from our partner, NBCUniversal, this fund will not only provide crucial financial support to BIPOC filmmakers but also boost the marketing and distribution potential of their projects, ensuring their success in local and international markets.”

Kadon Douglas, Executive Director, BIPOC TV & Film
